Melissa Heieie ~ Music Director
Melissa has served as Music Director at Silverside Church since 2008, infusing a diverse mix of traditional and contemporary music into Sunday Gatherings. She is dedicated to supporting spiritual expression through music, leading an adult choir and incorporating many in-house and guest musicians into worship settings. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Concordia College, in Moorhead, MN. An experienced conductor, organist, pianist, composer, arranger and vocalist, Melissa is also active as a teacher of the Simply Music piano method and can be frequently found playing the harp in her Celtic trio, Willow Tree.
Adult Choir
We sing with love and love to sing! All are welcome to join. The choir generally rehearses on Thursday nights and Sunday mornings, singing weekly in our Sunday Gatherings, Sept. - June. Repertoire consists of diverse styles and genres. Currently the choir is singing intermittently for health and safety reasons. We plan to return to a regular schedule soon. Additional Opportunities
All genres of music are celebrated in our Gatherings. On any given Sunday you may hear the sounds of Classical, modern, folk, or blues – just to name a few. If you have a musical talent you’d like to share or an interest you’d like to explore, please contact to Melissa to discuss creative opportunities.
Are you ready to ring some joy into your life? Handbells are a fun and easy way to make music with others. No experience required. Currently, opportunities are created as needed to enhance special occasions, such as Easter and Christmas. Contact Melissa for more information.
